This eMail is to inform you that the Alpine County Counsel and the County Clerk have agreed
that the Bear Valley Water District Ballot may not comply with the California election code. As a
result, the County Clerk has sent out a post card to property owners within the Bear Valley
Water District to advise them of the proper instructions for this important vote.
The issue is with respect to the instruction on the Ballot for selecting multiple candidates. The
Ballot states "Vote for three candidates." The State election code states in such cases the
instruction should be "Vote for no more than three candidates." If you have already voted or have
marked your Ballot prior to receiving this information or the post card from the County Clerk and
wish to make a change, you may call 530-694-2281 and request a new ballot for this election.
