The Bear Valley Water District (BVWD) provides sanitary sewer services to the
community of Bear Valley which is in Alpine County, California. It also serves the
Lake Alpine campgrounds and the Bear Valley Mountain Resort ski area.
The community is largely a resort community with both Summer and Winter
recreational uses. Currently, there are approximately 494 residential
customers and 18 commercial accounts.

The BVWD is a public agency governed by a Board of 5 elected Directors. As
such, all meetings and communications are subject to California's Brown Act
which is intended to ensure transparency in government. Meetings are
conducted the 3rd Monday of each month at the BVWD headquarters (please
see Contact Us for the address).
BVWD does not provide drinking water to the community. If you have any
questions about your drinking water supply, please contact the Lake Alpine
Water Company which is privately-held.
